Command Center Guide for Pax Autocratica

Repair the Command Center, research building technology, assign research work, and choose the next blueprint deliberately. Numeric rules and mistakes included.

The Command Center is the gate between gathering materials and constructing a working base. Follow the opening repair route first, then use it to research building technologies and unlock the blueprints required by later tutorial objectives.

What it is

The Command Center is where building technologies are researched. Unlocking a blueprint there makes the corresponding facility available for construction.

How to unlock it

Mine the nearby Titanite and return to the ruined center. The repair costs 4 Titanite in the Early Access launch build and uses a hold-to-repair prompt. Once the repair finishes, the system reports the Command Center fully operational.

How to operate it

Open the building's research view, select a blueprint, and assign research work. Research is not instant: a worker can be assigned at the Command Center while the job advances in real time. After completion, switch to construction mode and place the newly available building.

Early tutorial blueprints include the Barracks, Prison, Food Hall, and Resource Transfer Station. The center is therefore best treated as the base's research queue, not as a building that automatically constructs everything it lists.

Numeric rules

The Barracks blueprint costs 27 research points in the launch build. There is no single fixed research time for all buildings, and no published formula tying research duration to building size, so this guide does not state one.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to place a facility before its blueprint research completes.
  • Leaving all research to one worker while also expecting that worker to mine or build at full speed.
  • Queueing unrelated facilities when a captive, food, or shelter objective has already told you what is missing.
  • Treating "bigger buildings take longer" as an official rule; it is a reasonable assumption, not a documented one.

When to use it or avoid it

Use the Command Center whenever the game names a missing blueprint. Research the facility that resolves the current bottleneck, then build it before starting another branch. Avoid spending all available research points merely because a blueprint is visible; not every early unlock is equally urgent.

Return to the Beginner Guide. The opening repair is covered in Titanite and Resources; and two blueprints with immediate base consequences are Capture and Prisons and Food Supply.

FAQ

Does researching a blueprint build the facility?

No. Research completes first, and you then enter construction mode to place the building.

Can a worker research for me?

Yes. A worker can be assigned to research at the Command Center while the job advances over time.

Should I trust every displayed cost forever?

No. The values here describe the Early Access launch build and may change in later patches.
