Bosses and Decisive Battles in Pax Autocratica

Know how bosses fit into expeditions, what progress opens a decisive battle, and how temporary Core Fragment upgrades support the fight. Mistakes included.

Bosses are expedition endpoints, not a separate base activity. Build the current run through objectives and Core Fragments, watch enemy strength, and enter a decisive battle only when the expedition has opened it and the force is ready.

What it is

The sector map ranges from small resource raids to assaults on mercenary strongholds and sector bosses. Mini-boss victories provide combat modifiers used in the current roguelite run.

How to unlock it

Advance the current expedition by defeating enemies and completing objectives. The decisive battle requires 100% expedition progress before it becomes available. Whether every boss in every sector uses an identical trigger is not documented.

How to operate it

Treat the expedition before the boss as preparation. Collect compatible Core Fragments using the Core Fragments guide, keep soldiers and resources in a recoverable state, and monitor the enemy-strength level below expedition progress. If that level becomes too high, the game itself recommends returning to base to build up forces first.

During the encounter, follow the displayed objective and visible weak-point cues. This page does not publish boss-specific move lists or names, because the game does not label them and guessing from footage would be unreliable.

Numeric rules

The decisive battle opens at 100% current expedition progress. Core Fragment examples include a 25% tracking-missile chance and multiple missile damage modifiers, but those are temporary build options rather than fixed boss bonuses. No boss-health total, damage formula, or universal phase count is documented.

Common mistakes

  • Reaching a high progress value while ignoring the rising enemy-strength level.
  • Expecting the current Core Fragment build to survive a return to base.
  • Presenting guessed boss names, phases, or weaknesses as confirmed.
  • Assuming a mini-boss modifier drop makes every later encounter use the same reward.

When to use it or avoid it

Push into the decisive battle when it is unlocked and the current expedition build can handle the displayed strength. Return to base when the game's own warning says the level is too high. Avoid sacrificing a useful resource or capture run merely to reach a boss before the base is prepared.

FAQ

When does the decisive battle unlock?

At 100% expedition progress.

Do Core Fragments carry into the next boss run?

No. Collected fragments reset when you land and return to base.

Why are there no boss names or move lists here?

The game does not label bosses or publish their movesets, and naming them from guesswork would be less reliable than leaving the fields open.
